Having been to Bletchley ABC's home show head Coach Kevin McCarthy and myself have stayed in touch. We were so impressed by the quality of their boxing so when Kevin mentioned coming down to train we jumped at the chance of having them down. They arrived on the Friday evening, and got settled into their hotel, The Royal And Fortescue, and i met them in the morning to take them, and our boxers to train on the sand dunes. These are the largest in the country and this session is legendary, the Bletchley and Barum boxers got stuck right into it. A meal, a rest, then back to the gym for sparring in the evening, which was first class. In the morning we met at the gym again, for more sparring boosted by Torbay ABC coming up, again first class sparring with no liberties taken. Then straight from that we headed to Croyde beach for sprint work, and a tabata then some of the Bletchley squad stripped down and ran into the sea!!!! The locals were scratching their heads its baltic in their at that time of the year!! we then went for some quality fish & chips before they headed home. A really great weekend with such a great team of boxers, where friendships were formed and experience gained. As soon as this Covid-19 clears off they will be coming down again, and we cannot wait to see them. in the photo Bletchley ABC and our Nikki Patterson who came along after sparring for the sprints and fish & chips.
